Homem chuta e furta óculos da estátua de Drummond em Copacabana; assista

Um homem ainda não identificado vandalizou a estátua do poeta Carlos Drummond de Andrade, na praia de Copacabana, no Rio de Janeiro. Após chute, ele ainda furtou os óculos da obra feita em bronze. O caso aconteceu na noite da última sexta-feira (27) e foi flagrado através de vídeo. É a 11ª vez em 15 anos que a estátua sofre atos de vandalismo.

Um vídeo gravado pelo Núcleo de Videopatrulhamento da Guarda Civil mostra um homem se aproximando da estátua com uma mochila. Ele a chuta e sai de perto. Segundos depois, volta para pegar os óculos que ficaram no chão .

A Polícia Civil deverá instaurar uma investigação para identificar o suspeito. A Fundação Parques e Jardins informou, por meio de nota, que está em negociações com uma empresa para manutenção da estátua. A sa Essilor/Varilux foi responsável pelo patrocínio do serviço por mais de sete anos, até o início de 2016.

Histórico de vandalismo

Inaugurada em 2002, a obra do artista plástico Leo Santana já sofreu, ao todo, 11 atos de vandalismo. Na maioria das vezes, o objetivo dos criminosos é levar os óculos para vender o bronze, componente da estátua.

Dos 11 ataques, dez foram casos de furto dos óculos e um de pichação, em dezembro de 2013.
