O senador Omar Aziz (PSD-AM) criticou nesta terça-feira (12), a forma como transcorre a sabatina na Comissão de Constituição e Justiça (CCJ) do jurista Luiz Edson Fachin ao Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF). "Isso aí nem na tortura (sic) isso existia", disse, ao destacar que as perguntas dos integrantes da comissão têm sido as mesmas.

"Não acho justo uma pessoa chegar 9 horas da manhã ao Senado, não sendo réu, ficar 10 horas e meia aqui como se fosse réu", disse Aziz, para riso dos presentes à CCJ, inclusive o próprio Fachin. O senador do PSD, ex-governador do Amazonas, disse que nem mesmo castigos na época da escola eram iguais ao procedimento adotado pela sabatina.

O senador Roberto Requião (PMDB-PR) sugeriu que aos presentes a adoção da prática, comum na comissão, de abrir a urna para a votação dos integrantes da CCJ durante a sabatina. O líder do PSDB no Senado, Cássio Cunha Lima (PB), protestou. Para ele, tal prática é um desrespeito ao sabatinado. "O Brasil está nos acompanhando", disse o tucano.
